The TSA and FBI are responsible for overseeing access control to vulnerable areas within airports, mainly by issuing credentials to correctly verified workers. The Federal Aviation Administration expresses that there are significant challenges to implementing better certificates for pilots. Hence, the legislative ordered the establishment of better credentials for pilots to avoid counterfeiting and develop the ability to use biometrics for identification.
